The Martial Glacier Sunset tour offers a breathtaking view of the city, the Beagle Channel, and the surrounding mountains. It is said to be one of the favorite panoramic views for those visiting Ushuaia. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most visited spots during winter holidays in Ushuaia.

The journey begins in a wonderful forest and gradually turns into a mountainous path until reaching the panoramic point to discover the incredible view of the city and its surroundings.

We will start the experience at the base of Cerro Martial, just before sunset, beginning the ascent through the forest trail to reach the Glacier Viewpoint as night falls. We will have time to contemplate the imposing snowy landscape.

To begin the return, we will put on our headlamps and descend the mountain along the main trail in the darkness of the winter night in Tierra del Fuego.

To conclude Glaciar Martial Sunset, after an unforgettable experience, we will end the night by enjoying something hot or a craft beer within the forest, always accompanied by the unique sound of the river flowing from the glacier.

Glaciar Martial is an emblem of Ushuaia. It is located within the Natural Protected Area of the same name, just 7 kilometers from the center, and offers all kinds of activities to enjoy nature: in winter, alpine skiing and snowboarding are favorites, and in summer, it stands out as one of the most accessible places for hiking. Additionally, you will find gastronomic establishments open year-round.

The Martial Glacier is a cirque glacier due to its shape resembling an amphitheater or semicircle. It is located at an altitude of about 1000 meters above sea level, and its name comes from the commander of the French scientific expedition of 1882-1883, Louis Ferdinand Martial. Currently, it is a glacial remnant, meaning remains of a much larger ancient glacier. From there, the Buena Esperanza stream originates, which is a significant source of drinking water for the city.
