The Trek Estancia Túnel + Playa Larga tour offers spectacular panoramic views of the Beagle Channel as you traverse a winding trail through the Fuegian forest.

The trek begins at the end of the gravel road that runs along the coast, where a beacon called “Escarpados” stands. We will enter a cultural and provincial reserve called Playa Larga, located on the coast of the Beagle Channel.

The terrain is undulating, with some areas having roots and gentle slopes, so it’s necessary to have good footwear to avoid slipping.

During parts of the journey, the trail follows the coast of the Beagle Channel, allowing us to appreciate the unique ecosystem of this area, where forests of guindo trees thrive alongside other species such as canelo (with white flowers), hard wood, and notro (with red flowers).

We will reach the old settlement of Estancia Túnel, which has operated as a barrel factory since its inception (hence its name). This area also stands out for its cultural legacy from our canoeing peoples: there are Yaghan archaeological sites dating back 6000 years.

This tour operates year-round and is not canceled due to rain or snow. It is only canceled in the event of snowstorms or high winds.
For safety reasons, it is mandatory to wear mid or high-cut trekking boots, warm clothing, and waterproof gear. (Sneakers are not accepted).
