Gable Island and Harberton is a full-day tour that takes us on a journey by land and sea through the Beagle Channel to discover one of the wildest and most beautiful places in Tierra del Fuego.

Departing from Ushuaia, we head east on National Route 3 and then onto route “J”. Once at Estancia Harberton, we visit the Marine Mammal Museum and explore the surroundings of one of the first European settlements in Tierra del Fuego.

Next, we board a motorized Zodiac boat towards Martillo Island. From the boat, we can observe penguins in their breeding site. The motorboat navigation continues until we reach the main attraction of the day: the vast Gable Island, where lunch awaits with good Patagonian wine, soda, and mineral water. You’ll be amazed by the view of the mountain range that surrounds the city of Ushuaia and the sumptuous nature that envelops it. It’s a journey of great historical and scenic value that we undertake.

Along the way, you’ll encounter remnants left behind by the Yámana civilization and the early settlers, in an infinite and primordial landscape, magical and extreme. Amidst a silence only disturbed by the wind and the birds, you can experience the sensation of being alone in the world. After about two hours of hiking, we return to Puerto Harberton by Zodiac to take the bus back to Ushuaia and conclude the tour.
