Andean Silence Night begins 30 km from the city of Ushuaia, in the glacially carved valleys framed by snow-covered mountains, Tierra del Fuego offers the ideal setting for various snow activities: dog sledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
We start with the pick-up from the hotel, from where we will have a half-hour transfer to Llanos del Castor, our winter center. The excursion consists of 3 outdoor activities, always guided by a trained person. First, we will take a gentle snowshoe trek over frozen peat bogs. Snowshoes are very useful when there is a lot of snow. The guide will provide information about the landscape, flora, fauna, the prominent geoforms, and the beaver lodges we will see along the way.
Next, you will enjoy a snowmobile ride on a circuit. If you have never ridden a snowmobile before it won’t be an obstacle. The guide will give instructions on how to do it, and if you can’t, we will take care of it. Two people will ride on each snowmobile, and halfway through the circuit, there will be a driver change so that both can drive. Finally, our well-trained sled dogs will take you for a ride through the snowy forests. Afterwards, we will invite you to our cozy restaurant where you can enjoy a warm dinner to conclude the Andean Silence experience.
